An Interview With “Outpost 79” On “Kiss Intl 107.7" Radio!

1- How did you decide to join the Music Industry and why???
- I don’t think you really “decide” to join the music industry so much as get absorbed into it, in whatever capacity you’re in! For me, I started playing in bands just after high school, always in originals groups. The biggest band I was in when I was younger got to the Whisky A Go Go and places like that in L.A., which was awesome, but we never released anything that survived. Now, with digital streaming, it’s much easier to get into the public eye, so we’ve been happy to be there. I’ve always loved playing in originals bands because there’s nothing like seeing people at a show singing the lyrics you wrote. I used to think it would also be a great way to meet girls, but that never really came to fruition.

2- What are your goals?
- Tour Japan, tour Europe, have our songs played in stadiums, and then take command of the White House and fix everything wrong with the world. But
the last part may be a little too ambitious, so I’ll be happy for now with the tour Japan part and see people wearing our T shirts when we go
through airports in the USA. Or anywhere. Basically, we want the same thing as any other musicians: be heard by people who wouldn’t have
otherwise heard you.

3- Can you tell us more about your latest release?
- Certainly. It’s an EP, so it contains three of our most popular songs, plus a cover of Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads, which is part of most of our shows. We’ve actually changed our guitarist and drummer since the EP was recorded, since they had family obligations that took them far away from NYC. But the transition was very smooth, and in fact our original drummer visited us at a show a couple of weeks ago, completely by surprise. We play all four of those songs at our shows now, along with a bunch of other material we’ve written in the last year.

4- Can you tell us more about your future Projects?
- I was just getting to that! We’ve got enough material for a full length album now, and so we’ll be going into the studio again this winter
to put out probably 10 or 11 songs, one of which will be a gorgeous guitar piece that Jay wrote. We’ve got a couple of songs that our fans have been
really high on; one in particular has been generated a lot of compliments that will probably be our first single. I wouldn’t say the album will be anything
spectacularly different from the EP; more like a step forward but still on the same path.

5- What message do you send to your supporters today?
- Thank you for being there, and we hope to see you more in the future. We’ve got a few shows to play before we hit the studio, which will probably be in December. Expect the new release to be out in the spring; if you’ve joined the newsletter on the website, you’ll know before anyone else!
