1. Can you please tell us how did you start your music career?

Lloyd — I was in high school and local musicals forty years ago. Through taking music lessons and also ballroom dancing. And when I was in the air force, I was in tops in blue. I (started songwriting) to try something new. I’m in the church choir; I do solos. I’m an air force colonel, and I’m starting my (music) career late.

Vandi — I started studying music at 5, taking piano lessons. I’ve been performing since I was 5 years old. I started getting paid to perform when I was in college, working in summerstock musical theater productions. I began writing songs when I was 12, but I didn’t share them until after I finished graduate school. I began performing in musicals, operas, and with orchestras first and got into contemporary styles and recording later.

2. What are your achievements so far and main targets please?

Lloyd — My first music has been released, and I have a number of others in production. To release more songs and maybe be on some top ten lists. Maybe become a full time professional writer and singer

Vandi- I just released my fourth album. I am halfway finished with a music production certification program. I’ve performed professionally with orchestras, musical theater and opera companies, as a church musician, in jazz and big band, and in pop, rock, and country cover bands. Now, I am focusing mainly on my own music.

3. What are your near future plans and projects including your new upcoming release?

Lloyd — More releases, taking lessons, competition ballroom dancing, more singing and songwriting, get better at piano. I’d like to sing in night clubs, Jazz Kitchen. Trapped by my Heart would be the next one out. (Goal for this release)-to get it played at stations across the country and maybe internationally.

Vandi — I am already working on music for my next album. I want to keep learning and growing and making more music. I love music. It’s in me. I will keep making it. Making music is like breathing for me-it’s a necessity.

4. Are you opened to work on multiple music genres or just one?

Lloyd — Yeah, I’m open-everything except rap. I like rock and roll tunes, country-everything except opera and rap.

Vandi — The music I write tends to be pop, country, or folk. I am open to doing other genres. That is just how the songs I write usually turn out. I’ll sing anything though!

5. What do you like to tell to your supporters out there now?

Lloyd — That I appreciate their support and stay tuned for more songs…

Vandi — I never could have made it to where I am without having people believe in and support me and my music. I feel incredibly blessed to have had family, friends, colleagues, community, teachers, and fans who have believed in and supported me even when I didn’t believe in myself. The reason I make this music and put it out into the world is for you guys. If you weren’t there listening, I would just sit at home alone making music for my dog. It’s a lot more fun when I can share the music I make with a human audience. Knowing that my music blesses others, encourages them, is uplifting, helps them work through their grief-that’s pretty incredible. Knowing that it has touched someone. I love when people reach out and tell me how my songs have changed their life. I don’t know that there is a better feeling than that.
